Monday is the last bank holiday in May, when we can feel that summer is here at last. The day is also known as Pentecost Monday or Whit Monday, a Christian festival, which marks the end of the Easter cycle, which began 90 days ago with Ash Wednesday at the start of Lent.
Pentecost Monday celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles of Jesus Christ and the first Christian sermon, which was delivered by Saint Peter. Many Christians recognise this event as the birth of the Christian church.
The holiday is an opportunity to come together and have fun with friends and family. Our clients will certainly be making the most of the bank holiday – going out for a picnic or a BBQ in the garden, walking in the park, or meeting up with friends.
